I am a bit of a noob when it comes to katanas. Not because I dont know about them, (I actual know lots about them and can name just about every part on a katana in japanese) but because I dont know a good brand/model from a bad one. I want to know if the relatively cheep Musashi Chris Zhou Katanas are any good and if its worth the money. I seriously need a cheep live cutter. I previously bought a $50 musashi and it was average at best. Chris Zhou swords cost a lot more. Are they capable of being a good sword in the dojo as well as for practice? Are they able to shave the hair off your arm if you tried (thats always a good way to know if its sharp)? Well I just need to know because I really like them. I will give you a link for the katana I might buy. Well what can you tell me about these swords?
I dont know anything about that sword or if it is a good deal for the price. I can tell you that Chris Zhou no longer makes these swords for Musashi, so you may want to snag it up. Most people would say Musashi if the best under 100 dollars but the Chris Zhou swords are probably the exception to that.
I too have found a large number of Chris Zhou blades that are listed as Musashi brand katana on SoM. I have not however found them to be so plentiful elsewhere. Perhaps it is the case that Jason at SoM purchased a large supply of these blades before Chris Zhou stopped producing them for Musashi?
